The Wiluma Story

Wiluma began with this lady (my grandmother) on this mountain (Mt. Hood) in the late 80s.

Our walks around the mountain were filled with stories, plant identification, examining animal ‘scat’, and always stopping to just look and listen.

An appreciation for the natural world was instilled in me, but more importantly protecting what we have and learning how to live in harmony with nature.

My entire career has been spent at the intersection of people and nature. I am passionate about helping companies balance business realities and environmental impact. It is important companies understand how business decisions impact nature.

Meet the Founder

From corporate boardrooms to the deserts of Mongolia . . .

With nearly two decades of experience across textiles, energy, and conservation, Jim Fitzpatrick has worked across private, public, and nonprofit sectors to scale solutions that align environmental outcomes with business performance.

Before starting Wiluma, Jim was the Director for the Regenerative Fund for Nature at Conservation International where he led a $23M regenerative agriculture fund focused on transitioning conventional production systems to regenerative practices in fashion supply chains. Prior to Conservation International, Jim worked at Nike where he held multiple leadership roles driving supply chain decarbonization, building and executing corporate strategies, establishing product sustainability standards, and scaling circular business models.

Before Nike, Jim spent seven years in the energy industry working with utility clients to deliver on energy efficiency and renewable energy targets. 

He started his career with the Nature Conservancy, US Forest Service, and University of Wyoming in various field roles protecting endangered species, and studying the effects of grazing on flora diversity in the Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest.  

Jim received a BS in Geography and minor in Geology from the University of Wyoming where he focused on natural resource management and the intersection of human and physical geography.
